Dallas Area Agency on Aging

The Dallas Area Agency on Aging (DAAA) is a part of the Community Council of Greater Dallas and is responsible for planning, advocating, and coordinating resources for seniors and their caregivers. The agency is also a part of the national network administered by the Federal Administration on Aging.

The Senior Source

Since 1961, The Senior Source has focused on serving the needs of Dallas-area older adults from age 50 up, along with their adult children and caregivers.  The Senior Source is the go-to nonprofit providing single-source access to a comprehensive range of senior services.

Dallas County Health and Human Services

The Dallas County Health and Human Services operates the Older Adult Services Program which serves Dallas seniors.  They also provide transportation for program participants. Senior centers are open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Specific services offered include:

  • lunch on weekdays
  • dancing
  • exercising
  • arts and crafts
  • field trips

 Keller Senior Activities Center

The Keller Senior Activities Center provides social activities to individuals who are age 55 or older and their adult guests. The Center is under the direction of the Senior Activities Center Supervisor. Participants are required to complete an information card when they make a second visit to the center or before participating in their first group trip.

Geriatric Care Managers

A professional geriatric care manager has been educated in various fields of human services social work, psychology, nursing, gerontology and trained to assess, plan, coordinate, monitor and provide services for the elderly and their families. Advocacy for older adults is a primary function of the care manager.
